Getting Started
Power BI is a powerful tool for turning raw data into actionable insights. To begin, download Power BI Desktop and sign in with your Microsoft account. Once set up, you can connect to a variety of data sources, such as Excel files, SQL databases, cloud services like Azure, and APIs.
After importing your data, explore Power BI’s visualisation tools, such as bar charts, scatter plots, and maps, by dragging data fields onto the canvas. Power BI's query editor allows for data transformation, enabling tasks like data cleaning, merging, and column restructuring before creating your visualisations.
Once your report is ready, publish it to Power BI Service to collaborate with your team or share interactive dashboards. Power BI Service enables setting up scheduled data refreshes to keep your reports updated, integrating seamlessly with Microsoft 365 for sharing across teams.
